NDC USA Youth Organiser Emmanuel Issah Abudu enters NDC Deputy National Youth Organiser race

Emmanuel Issah Abudu, Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) USA Chapter, has officially declared his intention to contest the position of Deputy National Youth Organiser of the party, promising to bring his experience in grassroots mobilisation and diaspora engagement to the national youth wing.

Mr Abudu’s decision adds another dimension to the emerging contest for the Deputy National Youth Organiser position, with the race expected to attract candidates with different experiences and visions for the future of the NDC Youth Wing.

In declaring his intention, Mr Abudu said his ambition is rooted in service and a desire to give young members of the party a stronger voice in the affairs of the NDC.

He said the party’s youth wing has made significant progress under its current leadership and expressed his readiness to work with the next leadership to consolidate those gains while introducing initiatives that respond to the aspirations of young people.

“This is not about me. It is about the young people of our party who continue to sacrifice for the NDC and deserve leaders who will go all out for them. I am a product of the grassroots, and I understand the sacrifices our young people make every day for this party,” he said.

Mr Abudu has been active in the NDC’s youth structures for several years, with experience spanning TEIN, grassroots mobilisation and the party’s diaspora structures.

His involvement in the NDC USA Chapter has also exposed him to the role of the diaspora in supporting the party’s political and organisational activities.

During the 2024 general election campaign, he served on the NDC National Youth Wing campaign team and participated in mobilisation activities aimed at strengthening the party’s support among young people.

If elected, Mr Abudu says he will prioritise grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment, employment and entrepreneurship, leadership development and stronger collaboration between the NDC’s youth structures in Ghana and abroad.

He has also identified the need to strengthen the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) and create more opportunities for young party members to acquire leadership and organisational skills.

Beyond the political campaign, Mr Abudu is expected to embark on consultations with youth organisers, TEIN leaders, party activists and other stakeholders as he seeks to build support for his candidature.

He has positioned his campaign as a collective effort to build a more vibrant, inclusive and responsive Youth Wing capable of effectively representing the interests of young members.
