One person has been killed and five others injured in a road crash involving a Kia Rhino and a MAN Diesel truck at Asubuo on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, August 11, and prompted a response from firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said one person was trapped in the Kia Rhino following the collision.
Firefighters used extrication equipment to free the trapped casualty, who was subsequently transported to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were damaged in the crash, with the circumstances leading to the accident currently under investigation.
"Firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station rescued a person trapped in a Kia Rhino after it collided with a MAN Diesel truck at Asubuo on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on Tuesday, 11th August 2026.
"The crew used extrication equipment to free the trapped casualty, who was taken to Suhum Government Hospital for treatment. Five people sustained injuries, while a male pedestrian died after reportedly being knocked down during the crash," the statement shared by the GNFS on Wednesday, read.
