'Don't attend July 30 funeral date for Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka set by Adwoa Safo' — Kristo Asafo Mission directs members

The Kristo Asafo Mission has directed all its members not to attend the announced funeral of its founder, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, stating that no official funeral will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, as discussions over the final burial arrangements are still ongoing.

In a statement issued by the Mission's leadership, members were urged to disregard any public announcements regarding the funeral and to await an official communication from the church. The directive comes amid an escalating disagreement within the late founder's family over the organisation of his final funeral rites.

However, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has rejected claims that the funeral has been cancelled. She insists that the burial and funeral ceremonies will proceed as scheduled, maintaining that the late Apostle's body will be laid to rest at Gomoa Mpota beginning on July 30, 2026.

Adwoa Safo has urged the public to ignore what she describes as rumours surrounding the funeral arrangements, stressing that the dates announced by her remain valid despite objections from some family members and the Kristo Asafo Mission leadership.

The disagreement has intensified in recent days, with Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, who leads the Kristo Asafo Mission, publicly warning church members against attending the funeral announced by his sister.
