The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Paramount Chief of Kenyase No. 2, Nana Kwabena Nsia Ababio, after finding him culpable of breaching the customs and traditions of the Asante Kingdom.
The decision was announced during a meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council held on Monday, July 27, 2026.
In addition to the Paramount Chief, almost all of his kingmakers were also destooled after they were found to have violated the oath associated with their traditional offices.
The Asantehene, however, spared the Kontihene from the sanctions imposed during the proceedings.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also ordered the reinstatement of the destooled Akyeame and other linguists serving within the traditional council.
