Modish Royal Montessori donates relief items to Samreboi flood victims

Families displaced by the recent floods in Samreboi have received relief support from Modish Royal Montessori following a donation of sanitary and essential items to victims sheltering at Aboi Fie.

The presentation was made on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the forecourt of the Aboi Fie M.A. School as part of efforts to ease the hardship facing affected residents.

The intervention was initiated by the Proprietor and Proprietress of Modish Royal Montessori, Mr. Justice Eshun and Mrs. Gloria Asmah, who mobilised the donation despite being out of the country on an official assignment.

A delegation comprising the Head of Greengold TV, Kaakyire Kofi Badu, together with Modish Royal Montessori representatives Dennis Osei Boakye, Abraham Obil, and Joseph Botwe, presented the items on behalf of the school's management to local authorities.

The donation included 20 bundles of toilet rolls, 10 boxes of baby diapers, 5 boxes of sanitary pads, 8 boxes of toilet soap, 1 carton of mosquito coils, 1 bale of children's thrift clothing, and 100 bags of sachet water to support sanitation, hygiene, and the immediate needs of displaced families, particularly women and children.

Receiving the items were the Deputy Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for Wassa Amenfi West, Mr. Ebenezer Acquanor, and the Assembly Member for the Bekwai Electoral Area, Hon. Thomas Andoh, popularly known as Capito. They expressed appreciation to the school's leadership, describing the donation as timely and a significant contribution to ongoing relief efforts.

The donation follows the devastating floods that struck Samreboi on June 15, 2026, after Rivers Samre and Tano overflowed their banks during a heavy downpour, inundating several communities.

The floods claimed two lives, destroyed 26 buildings, and submerged more than 200 homes across Aboi, Kokoase, Popolozzo, Nsuo Akyi, and Roman Hill. The disaster forced thousands of residents to seek refuge in temporary shelters, including classrooms and churches, after homes, roads, and farmlands were submerged.

The school's management said the intervention reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare. By organising the relief effort despite being outside the country, Mr. Eshun and Mrs. Asmah demonstrated their continued dedication to supporting the people of Samreboi during difficult times.

The donation also reinforces Modish Royal Montessori's commitment to community development and its readiness to support vulnerable families affected by emergencies.
