Tourism Ministry offers free public access to revised national cultural policy

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has made Ghana’s revised National Cultural Policy freely accessible to the public following its official launch on June 9, 2026, at the National Theatre in Accra.

The Ministry announced that an electronic copy of the policy document has been uploaded to its official website, enabling practitioners, researchers, stakeholders, and members of the public to access and download it at no cost.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is aimed at promoting wider dissemination of the policy, strengthening public awareness, and encouraging active stakeholder participation in its implementation.

The Ministry noted that making the document publicly available forms part of efforts to ensure transparency and foster greater collaboration across Ghana’s cultural and creative sectors. Officials believe easy access to the policy will support sector-wide understanding and help drive the country’s cultural development agenda.

The move also aligns with the government’s “Black Star Experience” vision, which seeks to position culture and the creative arts at the centre of national development while promoting inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration among stakeholders.

MoTCCA encouraged industry players, cultural institutions, researchers, and the general public to engage with the revised policy and contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening Ghana’s cultural identity and heritage.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to openness, stakeholder engagement, and effective implementation of cultural policies that support national development and the growth of the creative economy.

The revised National Cultural Policy is expected to serve as a key framework for preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage, promoting creative industries, and enhancing the contribution of culture to the country’s socio-economic development.
