NPP executives in Mpasatia angry over disqualification, call for intervention in polling station elections

Some aggrieved branch executives at Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua Constituency have staged a protest over their disqualification and the rejection of their nomination forms ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station elections.

The group, numbering about 40, alleges that their exclusion was deliberate and politically motivated.

They have accused the constituency chairman, Mr. Collins Addai, the vice secretary, Mr. Ransford Atta, grassroots organiser John D. Ofori Atta (popularly known as “Commando”), and deputy women’s organiser Madam Mary Asante Asiedu of orchestrating their disqualification.

According to the aggrieved executives, their nomination forms were deliberately concealed during the filing process, resulting in their names being left out of the electoral album.

They further claim the action is aimed at targeting supporters of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, alleging that some constituency executives backing Kennedy Agyapong are working to remove Bawumia-aligned members from the party register.

“We are almost 40 old executives who have been disqualified because we support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The constituency executives want to remove all Bawumia supporters from the album. We are calling on the regional executives, national executives, and the Flagbearer-elect to intervene,” they stated.

The executives also alleged that the Electoral Commission official supervising the process, Hon. Michael Awuku Amoah, distanced himself from the situation and left the polling centre.

They are therefore appealing to the party’s regional and national leadership to intervene to ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility in the ongoing polling station elections.
