The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr Zenator Agyemang Rawlings, has been elected as the 2nd Vice President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP).
She secured a decisive victory after polling 131 votes against 51 in the election held during the Parliament’s Extraordinary Session.
The election was held at he continental legislative body's istting in Midrand, South Africa, wihich began on April 28 and is expected to end today, April 30.
“By a vote 131 against 51, Hon Zenator Agyeman Rawlings has been elected as the 2nd Vice President of the Pan African Parliament. Congratulations Hon.,” the Parliament of Ghana announced on its official social media page.
Dr Rawlings’ election marks a significant leadership role for Ghana within the continental legislative body.
The legislative body brings together representatives from African Union member states to deliberate on governance, democracy and integration issues.
Meanwhile, Dr. Zenator Agyemang was previously appointed as part of Ghana’s delegation to the 6th Session of the Pan African Parliament in July 2025.
