The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rejected claims circulating on social media that its National Treasurer is diverting party dues through an unauthorised shortcode, describing the allegation as false and malicious.
In a statement issued on April 22, 2026, the Office of the National Treasurer dismissed a publication on a Facebook page identified as “Wo Boooowa,” which alleged that party dues were being collected through the shortcode 7142028#.
The party said the claims are intended to undermine its ongoing dues mobilisation efforts and do not reflect the reality of its financial operations.
According to the statement, the NPP’s official shortcode for dues collection remains 920270#, stressing that the number referenced in the viral post has never been used by the party for any revenue collection.
The Office of the National Treasurer therefore urged members and the general public to disregard the misleading information and rely solely on verified communication channels of the party.
The NPP also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of its finances.
