President John Dramani Mahama has welcomed the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, to Ghana for a three-day state visit scheduled from April 1 to April 3.

President Mnangagwa was received in Accra with full military honours, marking the beginning of a visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The visit will feature a series of high-level engagements, including a state banquet in honour of the Zimbabwean leader, a tête-à-tête between the two presidents, and expanded bilateral talks involving their respective delegations.

Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, and sanitation, as well as joint efforts to tackle corruption and unemployment.

The two leaders are also anticipated to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding aimed at deepening collaboration between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

As part of his itinerary, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, where he will be briefed on Ghana's progress in healthcare delivery and waste management.

He is also expected to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana's founding president, Kwame Nkrumah.
