Police recover Toyota Hilux, iPhone 16 Pro Max stolen in December 2025 robbery

The Ghana Police Service has recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux pick-up vehicle along with an iPhone 16 Pro Max that were robbed in December 2025, following an intelligence-led operation in Awutu Senya.

The operation led to the identification of the suspect, Clement Kofi Aidoo, also known as Joseph Abequaye, Yaw, and Paddy, who attempted to attack police officers during the raid.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 11, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said, , the suspect was shot and later pronounced dead at the Police Hospital while receiving treatment.

“Based on sustained intelligence gathering, the police located a suspect identified as Clement Kofi Aidoo… The suspect attempted to attack the officers but was shot and injured in the process and was rushed to the Police Hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead,” the statement read in part.

Police recovered the stolen Toyota Hilux, the complainant’s iPhone 16 Pro Max, and several documents from the suspect.

Further checks revealed that the same suspect had stolen a Toyota Camry belonging to a police officer in November 2025, which was later abandoned in the Central Region following a police chase.

“The Ghana Police Service assures the public of its continued commitment to tracking criminal networks, recovering stolen property, and ensuring that persons involved in such violent offences are brought to justice,” the statement noted.
