
All roads in Sunyani will lead to SSNIT, a suburb of the Bono Regional capital, this Saturday where the burial service and the final funeral rites of the late media icon, Francis Owusu-Ansah, will take place.
Journalists, radio presenters and an array of media practitioners as well as politicians, chiefs, friends and family are expected to be there in their numbers to bid the late media personnel farewell.
Born in 1975, the late media personality and entrepreneur passed away on Tuesday December 23, 2025, after being on admission at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital for a few days.
Family sources say the late Owusu-Ansah, who was also known widely as Agama, will be laid in state at the family's residence behind SSNIT flats, specifically, block 6.
Professionalism and credibility
Francis Owusu-Ansah was a well-known Ghanaian journalist and media personality based in Sunyani in the Bono Region and was widely respected for his long career in broadcast journalism and community engagement.
Agama was a veteran journalist and broadcaster with over 27 years of experience in the media industry and worked with several radio stations in Ghana, particularly in Sunyani and the Bono Region, where he earned a reputation for professionalism and credibility.
Over the years, he served in various capacities, including news editor and general manager at multiple radio stations and worked with The Chronicle newspaper as the Bono Regional Correspondent.
He was involved in content development, editing, presentation, and mentoring younger journalists.
Beyond Journalism
In addition to his media work, Francis Owusu-Ansah also managed the Virgin Kourt Hotel in Sunyani before his death.
He passed away on December 23, 2025, at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital after a short period of illness, prompting tributes from colleagues and the broader community who remembered him for his contributions to journalism and mentorship.
