With her chest out, face beamed with an atrocious smile, the woman who haughtily described herself as a lawyer and a three-time Member of Parliament, arrogantly mounted the politically charged stage.
"Kennedy Agyapong is finished today," somebody was heard saying from the audience as the lawyer without any landmark case to her credit, took the microphone. Her baby mama-relationship with Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the frontliner of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries race, made many wonder what she would be saying as a supporter of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ken's main contender.
But as the Bible rightly puts it, "When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him," (Proverbs 16 vs 7, KJV), the bitter woman ended up promoting Ken.
Drunk with her self-inflicted bitterness and hatred for Ken, Madam Sara Adwoa Sarfo exposed herself as a self-centered woman who is in politics to advance her parochial interests. And to Ken, she testified of as a principled man who would not repeat the mistakes of Dr. Bawumia -- promoting the interests of family and friends at the detriment of the party grassroot members. Perhaps Ghanaians would have forgotten, Dr. Bawumia lobbied for his brother-in-law and father-in-law to be appointed as Deputy Director-General of NADMO and Ambassador respectively, under the government that he served as a Vice President. That is what Adwoa Sarfo is saying Ken will never do as the principled man she knows him for.
Without any sense of shame, Adwoa Sarfo confessed that she knew Ken very well. That, the man for whom she has birthed two children is so principled that he would never give her any appointment should he be elected as the next President. Her greatest concern is that when Ken becomes the President of Ghana, that would mark the end of her political career.
Really? Adwoa Sarfo doesn't care about the jobs Ken has promised to create for the millions of jobless Ghanaian youth. All she cares about is her political appointment. Could Ghanaians be right to conclude that Adwoa Sarfo thinks the NPP grassroot members exist for her selfish interest? By the way, what has she achieved for mother Ghana, as a three-time Member of Parliament and former Minister of Procurement and Gender, Children and Social Protection, that makes her think her party grassroot members should continue to promote her interest against theirs?
For the fact that Adwoa Sarfo is not stupid, we need to look at her mistake from God's point of view as expressed in Proverbs chapter 16 vs 7 which states, "When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him,"
This scripture means that living righteously brings divine favor, even turning adversaries towards peace because God is with that person, establishing calm where conflict might otherwise reign.
Judging by what Ken is passionate about, it could be right to call him a righteous soul. This man is passionate about touching lives and solving the problems of mankind, something he does with all his heart and might. As a politician, he has lived up to expectations. This is evidenced in what he has done with the mandate of the people of Assin land.
His love for humanity is irrefutable. He has never turned his back to any sick person that crossed his path. He has never turned his back to any brilliant but needy student that crossed his path. Beyond individuals, he has also addressed many community and institutional challenges with his personal resources.
This trait of Ken qualifies him as a practitioner of true and pure religion as rightly captured in James 1 vs 27, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
This has made Ken to find favour from God as far as this presidential primaries race is concerned. The mistake of Adwoa Sarfo is divine. It is a clear indication that God has chosen Ken, the reason why the Supreme Being himself has confused Ken's enemies to give positive testimonies about him.
The grassroots, whom Ken has landed himself in many troubles fighting for, may face the fury of God, if they harden their hearts to reject the anointed of the Lord.
