
The Amasaman Circuit Court has handed a 17-year prison sentence each to two men who carried out a violent robbery on two residents of Agbazo, near the Golden Exotic Farm in Accra.
The convicts, Lawrence Fumato, known as Rasta, aged 28, and Daniel Dzoka, known as Alkaline, aged 20, admitted guilt to charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.
The offences were brought under Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). Their sentences will run concurrently.
A statement issued by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, explained that the two men attacked their victims on November 12, 2025, using a pair of scissors as a weapon.
They made away with a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung mobile phone, a Tecno Spark 8, an itel keypad phone, and an amount of GH¢4,000.
Police arrested the culprits on November 17, 2025, after an intelligence-led operation in the same community.
The Accra Regional Police Command has expressed appreciation to residents of Agbazo for their cooperation and urged the public to continue assisting law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities through emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
