The Ghana Armed Forces have brought back the historic Exercise Tiger’s Path, marking its full return in 2025 after being on hold for five years.

The exercise, which began in 1991 during the PNDC era, has been restored with a renewed sense of purpose, with military officials assuring the ranks that it is now firmly back on the calendar.

As part of activities marking its revival, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, commissioned the completed internal road network at the Jungle Warfare Training School in Achiase in the Eastern Region. He performed the ceremony on behalf of the Minister for Roads and Highways. The project, which also includes newly constructed parade grounds, was initiated and completed within the same year.

Mr Brogya Genfi thanked Mr Kwame Governs Agbodza for prioritising the road works, noting that the improved infrastructure will significantly boost training and operational efficiency. He also honoured the memory of the late Minister for Defence, Mr Edward Omane Boamah, whose support helped set the project in motion. He further praised the Military High Command for the leadership they provided throughout the process.

The Deputy Minister acknowledged the Training School for the honorary award presented to him and expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his continuous investment in the infrastructure of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Central Command finished the exercise as the overall winner and received praise for its resilience and exceptional performance. All participating units were commended for their strength, endurance, and commitment as the iconic exercise made a strong and symbolic return.
