Critics Our Government supports Coup, why condemn one in Guinea-Bissau- Oppong Brenya questions Ghana government

I'm shocked and in a state of dilemma as to our government's position on the coup in our West Africa continent. Not too long ago, our government openly endorsed a coup by inviting someone who had just plotted a coup in Burkina Faso to the swearing-in of John Dramani Mahama as president. “Why condemn the same in Guinea?” Our government has clearly shown its support for coups through that single action,” Mr. Oppong Brenya said.

Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traore recently attended the swearing-in ceremony of Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama, sparking controversy due to his armed presence. Traore, known for his strong stance against terrorism and internal unrest, arrived with armed guards, raising questions about diplomatic protocols.

According to Oppong Brenya, the gesture was a show of solidarity and regional ties. We Ghanaians were threatened and felt it breached security protocol when he even brought in armed men with guns while exchanging pleasantries with our president.

Even our Speaker of Parliament was enjoying the spectacle and even said Burkina Faso's meaning is "the nation of strong men and women," putting the action into perspective. Oppong Brenya revealed.

“This act by the president and speaker of parliament highlights the complexities of regional politics and diplomacy, with governments navigating national identity and international norms.”

Even the president in a private conversation is heard saying to the coup leader that “Ghanaians Love you”

According to Mr. Oppong Brenya, the government has no moral right to condemn any coup in any part of the world given the clear support for the coup in Burkina Faso.
