Why NPP Delegates Must Reject Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong’s sudden desire to lead the NPP is nothing short of baffling. For years, he loudly dismissed any interest in the presidency, insisting that his only focus was making money. Today, he wants the same position he once mocked. What changed? Many within the party believe his motivation is not service, not vision, but revenge. Delegates must examine his behaviour closely from 2023 through the 2024 elections to the present moment. The pattern is troubling, and the danger is real.

Delegates, you must firmly and unapologetically reject Kennedy Agyapong for the following reasons:

1. His message is built on division. Kennedy Agyapong’s entire campaign thrives on tearing down the party’s unity. His open invitation to disgruntled figures like Alan Kyerematen reveals a darker agenda rooted in bitterness, rather than leadership.

2. He attacks anyone who disagrees with him. This is not a strength. It is hostility. His public threats to party members and MPs show a man driven by vendetta, not by a desire to build or lead.

3. He blackmails the party at every turn. Kennedy Agyapong has made a habit of dragging the party into public ridicule. His reckless insults, his wild allegations, and his unrestrained outbursts damage the NPP far more than any opponent ever could.

4. He hypocritically blames others for problems he helped create. He accuses former appointees of neglecting the grassroots while conveniently forgetting that he was also an appointee with the same responsibility. This is deception disguised as activism.

5. His team openly wishes for the party to lose. Their message is clear: since they claim the grassroots were denied opportunities, the party must be punished. Any team that hopes for opposition does not deserve to win a primary.

6. Their lies about the 2024 defeat are dangerous. Pinning the party’s electoral defeat on Bawumia is dishonest and malicious. It is a calculated attempt to shift blame and destroy reputations for personal gain.

7. His tribal undertones are alarming. Kennedy Agyapong’s recent suggestions that Akans should reject minority groups reveal a deliberate attempt to fracture the party along ethnic lines. No leader with such a mindset can secure victory or build a stable future for the NPP.

8. His slogan, “we are collecting our party,” exposes him. It is not a unifying message. It is a warning. It signals division, resentment, and an intention to hijack the party rather than serve it.

Delegates, be careful. This is the same man who once dismissed the presidency with pride, yet now parades himself as the saviour of the party. His actions, statements, and alliances do not point toward leadership. They point toward destruction. The NPP cannot gamble its future on a man whose ambition is rooted in anger and whose strategy depends on tearing his own party apart.
