The government has announced that the report on investigations into the August 6 helicopter crash will be released to the public at 11:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, November 11.

Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, who made the announcement, said the investigative report is ready for public release following its presentation to the President.

In a social media post on Monday, November 10, Mr Kwakye-Ofosu, who also serves as spokesperson for President John Mahama, disclosed that the committee tasked with the probe had submitted its findings at a National Security Council meeting earlier in the day.

“The Acting Minister for Defence has led the Committee that investigated the August 6 helicopter crash to present their report and findings to the President.

“The presentation was made at a meeting of the National Security Council. The report will be released to the public tomorrow, Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.,” he wrote.

The investigation was commissioned to determine the cause of the deadly crash that claimed the lives of all eight people on board, while they were en route to Obuasi to launch a responsible mining programme.

Among the dead were Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
