Helicopter crash report to be ready on Monday

Government spokesperson Felix Ofosu Kwakye has said the report on the August 6 helicopter crash investigation, which claimed the lives of several senior government officials, including the Defence Minister and the Environment will be ready by Monday, November 10.

“The report on the August 6 helicopter tragedy will be submitted to the National Security Council tomorrow [Monday],” Mr. Ofosu Kwakye disclosed.

“After the Council’s review, the findings will be made public at a media briefing on Tuesday,” he added, noting that the disclosure will provide long-awaited answers to grieving families and the nation.

On Wednesday, President John Dramani Mahama will travel to the Ashanti Region to launch a flagship social and economic empowerment initiative dubbed “Nkɔkɔ Nkitinkiti.” Though details remain under wraps, government sources describe it as one of the administration’s most ambitious community development programmes yet.

The week’s climax will be on Thursday, November 13, when Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson presents the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament. The document is expected to unveil bold fiscal measures and new policy directions aimed at sustaining economic growth, job creation, and social welfare.

According to Mr. Ofosu Kwakye, the budget “brims with far-reaching policy initiatives that reflect the President’s vision for inclusive growth and national renewal.”

Observers say the series of events marks a defining week for the Mahama government—one that addresses a national tragedy, launches a major development agenda, and sets the tone for Ghana’s economic path in the coming year.
