Kofi Akpaloo, it has been reported and same went viral that you remarked regarding the helicopter crash incident with rhetorical questions that “Why are Ghanaians behaving as if this tragedy is unprecedented? Even children dies, so if these old men have died, what is the big deal about it? So Kofi, if your brother or a loved one dies today, you won’t grieve again because you had lost some in the past? What a low thinking logic?

Kofi, in case you just woke from a slumber, then wash your face and be told that the helicopter crash which took eight (8) lives is a national tragedy. For some years now, you have been vying for the office of President perhaps for your selfish gains. Ideally, a presidential material which you claim you are should not be a low thinker let alone indulge in lose talks of this nature.

Ghanaians are human first before political affiliations which you value over life. I wonder if you are a Shakesperean Macbeth of a sort who is a villain to the extent of taking delight in people’s deaths. I wished there was a law that banned lose talkers your kind from contesting for the office of President in this country.

Kofi, you may lack the sovereignty of reasoning which necessitated your condemnable and irresponsible remark but it should not be lost on you that death is inevitable and that with passage of time, all of us including you will taste death. Be informed that William Shakespeare said, all that lives must die, passing through nature to eternity. Said differently, every lose talking Kofi who lives today will one day die, passing through nature to eternity and he cannot predict the mode though which he will taste death.

Are you for once aware that this national tragedy has broken hearts beyond those of the bereaved families and that it will cost the nation you want to lead, huge sums of money to bury the deceased and compensate their families mindful of the fact that the eight public officials died in line of national duty?

Your comment is cruel, heartless, insensitive, below the belt, smacks of a blood drinking spirit in you and it is highly condemnable. Look Kofi, a person your standing should speak sense and consolation in a grievous time like this. Wow, so is this the MBA you obtained from South Bank University can offer Ghana? Or are you one of such people who passed through a school but the school did not pass through them or have a positive effect on their thinking and public utterances? Your comment does not depict that of someone who hails from Anyako in Volta Region. It is equally a disgrace to us from Volta. As such, some of must be the first to condemn it in no uncertain terms.

Kofi Akpaloo, it is evident that you have abject disregard for human life so you do not even qualify to lead George Orwell’s Animal Farm let alone lead the Republic of Ghana. By this insensitive comment, you have shot yourself in the foot to the extent that you may not even win a District Assembly election in Ghana. Advisedly, if you have an insane delusion of a sort that manifests periodically, then deal with it head-on and save yourself the actual embarrassment while you save your family and your political party (the Liberal Party) the vicarious embarrassment.

With this comment, you should not be seen anywhere near the funeral for these eight national figures/heroes who died painfully in the helicopter crash. I have over the years tried to take you seriously in this country but unfortunately, the more I try the more you personally thwart my efforts in that regard.

Kofi Akpaloo, you lack political maturity and correctness. If indeed you command political maturity and correctness, you would have known by now that there are very good personalities in the various political parties which we need for nation building hence we should not wish that they die nor jubilate over their demises because they do not belong to our political parties. You may want to read about Chris Argyris’ immaturity -maturity theory and learn a lesson or two from there.

To this end, be advised that if there is nothing sensible and meaningful, one must keep quiet and follow events rather than open his or her mouth to make condemnable remarks just like the one you have made. At this level of your life, you must speak and act responsibly and not engage in childish talks that will bring your societal rating down. In case you see and read this piece, show remorse and offer an unqualified apology to the nation and eschew such insensitive remarks in due course. I would have ended this piece with Asante Sana, a thank you in Swahili but you do not deserve that. Kofi, na dzudzor gbegble kple vlododo nyawo gbogblor!!!

Philip Afeti Korto holds BSc. Administration (Health Service Administration option) from University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He also holds a Master of Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He occasionally gives practical lectures at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) upon invitation.

He is an outstanding member of the Association of Health Service Administrators, Ghana (AHSAG). He has published numerous practical articles in the Health Service Manager, the official journal of AHSAG. In November 2019, AHSAG awarded Mr. Korto in recognition of his incessant and significant contributions to the cause and course of the Association.

He takes delight in training up and coming Public Administrators especially trainee Health Service Administrators and students pursuing Health Service Administration. Mr. Korto has trained about 80 Houseman Health Service Administrators.
