WED, 25 JUN 2025

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released an amount of GHC8,989,866.00 to cater for feeding grants for Special Needs Schools across the country.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Wednesday, June 25, and signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyii. The payment, according to the statement, is intended to support the feeding of all students enrolled in Special Needs institutions nationwide.

GES described the move as a major step in advancing inclusive education in Ghana and acknowledged the government’s role in making the funds available. It said the disbursement highlights the state’s ongoing efforts to provide equal learning opportunities for all children.

The statement also extended gratitude to school heads, teaching staff, and students for their patience throughout the disbursement process.

“GES remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to deliver inclusive education for every learner, regardless of ability,” the release concluded.
