A delegation from Sunyani Zongo has paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Sunyani, Ɔdɛɛfoɔ Ɔgyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, to solidarize with him and pledge their support towards his stool.
The delegation was made up of the leadership of various ethnic groups such as Waala, Mossi, Hausa, Gonja, Dafi, Grusi, Sisaala, Dagomba, Fulani, Songhai, and Wangara
They called for their inclusion in all his activities of the traditional council and promised to mobilize their people to support the Omanhene’s initiatives to enable him to achieve his vision.
They further emphasized the need to maintain and strengthen unity and love between the Zongo communities and the Sunyani Traditional Council.
For his part, the Sunyanimanhene acknowledged the existing strong relationship between the Sunyani Traditional Council and the Zongo Community, noting that Sunyani’s Zongo is uniquely located in the city center, unlike in other towns, symbolizing integration.
He expressed confidence that with Zongo’s support, his development plans for Sunyani can succeed and appealed for their assistance in ensuring that cattle do not roam the principal streets of Sunyani.
The Omanhene announced plans to convert the old refuse dump near the Urban Council School (Penkwase traffic light) into a recreational park for Zongo children to play after school.
