An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a 29-year-old mobile banker, Aziz Suleman, to five years imprisonment for stealing GHS70,840 from Abii National Savings and Loans.
Suleman, charged with stealing, pleaded guilty and was convicted by Mr. Jojo Amoah Hagan, who also ordered him to refund GHS58,840.
He had earlier paid GHS12,000 to the police during investigations.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Patience Avorga, said the complainant, Jennifer Benninig, branch manager at Abii National, discovered on May 9, 2025, that GHS45,000 had gone missing and reported the case to Kaneshie Police.
Suleman was arrested and admitted the offence.
A subsequent audit, conducted in his presence, confirmed the total stolen amount was GHS70,840.
