A fire broke out at the Lucky Herbal Centre branch in Kasoa on Monday, June 16, 2025, around 8:00 a.m., causing extensive damage to the facility.
The blaze, believed to have been triggered by a gas cylinder explosion during cooking, destroyed several sections of the building, including offices, staff quarters, and a TV newsroom.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick smoke coming from a room on the first floor before the fire rapidly spread. Although civilians initially tried to contain the flames, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived promptly to bring the situation under control.
Municipal Fire Commander, ADO II Marcell Kwame Avadu, used the incident to remind the public about fire safety. Awutu Senya East NADMO Director, Nash Nyamdey, also praised the Fire Service for their swift response.
Thanks to coordinated efforts by the GNFS, NADMO, and the Police, the fire was eventually contained, though the herbal centre suffered considerable losses. Assessments are currently underway.
