NDC's Dumsor Levy So Well Schemed! Abilolo's Random Musings!

It is clear the Mahama led NDC government is forcing us to pay for their mistakes! Wake up people! These guys want to introduce a GH¢1 per litre tax on petroleum products deceptively branded as “Dumsor Levy.” But you and I know this isn’t just another tax! It is a carefully orchestrated scam designed to make Ghanaians foot the bill for their past dubious decisions and political debts.

In case you've forgotten, this whole crisis was engineered. The NDC signed outrageous take-or-pay power agreements that force Ghana to pay over $1 billion a year to Independent Power Producers whether we use the power or not. And guess what? Many of these IPPs are controlled by their business partners and political cronies.

Instead of renegotiating these deals to save Ghana billions, the NDC is now forcing every Ghanaian to pay for their blunder through this DUMSOR Levy, punishing ordinary citizens instead of holding themselves accountable. Then as part of this well thought through propaganda, they lied about a fuel shortage early days into government, claiming it was the reason behind a looming Dumsor just to justify introducing a new levy.

They then manufactured power outages to condition Ghanaians into accepting any tax no matter how ridiculous, as some “solution.” This has been a psychological warfare! A socioeconomic blackmail disguised as policy.

Finally they scrapped the NPP's obnoxious 1% E-Levy (paid only by users) and replaced it with a GH¢1 per litre Dumsor Levy which affects everyone. Accounting the fact that Ghana consumes roughly 14 million litres of fuel daily, that is GH¢14 million collected everyday! Taken straight from the pockets of struggling citizens.

And who benefits? Their politically connected Independent Power Producers and NDC financiers. While Ghanaians suffer in the dark and pay more at the pump, the NDC’s inner circle enjoys guaranteed payouts funded by our pain as a people.This cannot be governance. This is manipulation and exploitation. Ghanaians deserve answers! We deserve better than to be taxed into poverty so a few can live in luxury.
