President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Professor Goski Alabi, a distinguished academic, practitioner, consultant, and entrepreneur, as the new Chairperson of the University Council of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) in Tarkwa.
She brings to the role decades of experience in academia, consultancy, regulation, and leadership.
Prof. Alabi who is a Professor of Quality Management and Leadership is also known for her contributions to national education policy and is a member of the Organising Committee of the Ghana Education Forum, set up by President John Mahama.
She holds a BSc in Chemistry and a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, an MPhil in Food Science from the University of Ghana, a Doctor of Business Administration from the Swiss Management Centre, and a PhD in Business Administration from Central University of Nicaragua.
Her appointment is seen by many as a step toward strengthening governance and academic excellence at UMaT.
