Professor Edward Dua Agyeman has officially stepped down as Chairman of the Audit Service Board, ending his nearly eight-year tenure in the role.

In a resignation letter dated May 30, 2025, and addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Prof. Agyeman cited personal reasons for his decision to leave office, a graphiconline report has said.

His resignation became effective on May 31, 2025.

He expressed gratitude to President Mahama for the opportunity to serve, marking the end of a long and distinguished public service career.

Prof. Dua Agyeman was appointed Chairman of the Audit Service Board in 2017 by then-President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He held the position through two successive administrations until his departure.

Before chairing the Board, he served as Ghana’s Auditor-General from April 2001 to May 2010, working under the leadership of former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Evans Atta Mills. He earlier held the role of Deputy Auditor-General between July 1987 and June 1989.

With a career spanning over three decades, Prof. Agyeman holds the distinction of being the only Auditor-General to have served under all five presidents of Ghana’s Fourth Republic.
