
Police in the Western Region have arrested a man identified as Yahaya Seidu for allegedly possessing a firearm without lawful authority.
The arrest was made by officers from the Western Central Regional Police Command at Aponteng Krom, a community in the region. During the operation, police recovered a locally manufactured pistol along with two live cartridges from the suspect.
According to investigators, Seidu was unable to provide any legitimate explanation for being in possession of the weapon at the time of his arrest.
He is currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities say he will be put before court once preliminary inquiries are completed.
