President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is expected back in the country by the end of next week, following a period of medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
Addressing a durbar at the Old Ghanata Astroturf in Dodowa on Friday, May 16, as part of his ongoing 'Thank You Tour,' President Mahama provided an update on the Vice President’s health and return.
“I bring you greetings from H.E. the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. I'm happy to state that I spoke to her on Thursday, May 15 morning and she will be back in the country before the end of the next week.
“By God's grace, she's fully recovered, and she's going to come back to her duties,” he stated.
The President also took time to personally visit Prof. Opoku-Agyemang in the UK on Mother's Day. In a heartfelt gesture, he shared a photo from their meeting on his Facebook page on Sunday, May 11, where he praised her strength and dedication.
“A special Mother's Day greeting to my Vice President, @njoagyemang, whom I had the pleasure of visiting earlier this morning,” the President wrote.
With her full recovery confirmed, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is expected to resume her official duties upon her return, bringing relief and excitement to supporters across the country.
