Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, has thrown subtle shade at former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, insisting President John Dramani Mahama cannot be misled like some leaders of the past.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, April 30, Dr Ayine made the comment while addressing concerns that he had misinformed President Mahama in his earlier briefing on a GHS49 million theft case involving former National Signal Bureau Director-General, Kwabena Adu Boahene and his wife.
“You will recall that some media houses claimed I had been deceived into giving a press conference and had in turn misled His Excellency John Dramani Mahama,” the Attorney General said.
“Let it be known that unlike some presidents in the past who were misled, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is on top of his brief and cannot be misled,” he added.
The dig, though not directly naming former President Akufo-Addo, appeared to reference the controversial Ameri deal which led to the sacking of Boakye Agyarko as Minister of Energy after he allegedly misled the President.
Dr Ayine was updating the media on the state’s prosecution of Mr Adu Boahene, his wife Angela Adjei Boateng, Mildred Donkor, and Advantage Solutions Ltd for allegedly stealing GHS49.1 million and diverting public funds meant for secure internet services provided by the National Signals Bureau.
“Everything I told the President is backed by evidence. The docket is replete with documents confirming the wrongdoing that has been investigated,” Dr. Ayine said.

To be honest, Akufo-Addo came to be president only to wreak havoc. Ghana wouldn't have resembled the Sahara Desert if people hadn't fallen for his falsehoods and tricks before 2016.
