Member of Parliament for Chereponi Constituency, Hon. Alajor Seidu, has called on the people of Anuforland to foster an environment that protects and promotes their cultural identity through collective efforts from all age groups.
Speaking at the 2025 Kurubi and Bambati Peace Festival held in the Chereponi District of the North East Region, Hon. Alajor emphasised the importance of cultural preservation and unity in building a stronger community. “Through culture and annual festival activities, all people from far and near within Anuforland will come together to participate in the event. Doing so will bridge gaps and mend cracks that have led to disputes in the area,” he said.
Describing the festival as a historic and significant milestone, the MP commended the event as a symbol of commitment to peace, cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and development. “I have witnessed firsthand the beauty in our diversity and the strength we can build when we work together,” he noted.
Highlighting the importance of the Kurubi and Bambati Festival, Hon. Alajor explained that the celebration not only honors the legacy of ancestors but also serves to inspire future generations. “The 2025 Annual Kurubi and Bambati Festival is meant to promote peace, unity, and development among residents in the district,” he stated, adding that peace remains key to unlocking opportunities in education and socio-economic growth. “Conflict only leaves us with scars, pain, and missed opportunities. But peace opens doors for education, development, and the future of our youth.”
In his address to the youth, the MP urged them to channel their energies away from division and instead invest in education, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship to secure a better future. He called on all communities to embrace peaceful coexistence, regardless of ethnic, religious, clan, or political differences.
