In a resounding show of confidence, nominees for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa East and Gomoa Central Districts in the Central Region received 100% endorsement from their respective Assembly Members.

The overwhelming votes were attributed to the nominees' high standards and strong interpersonal relationships with members of their communities, particularly with traditional leaders.

Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom secured all 18 votes to become the newly elected DCE for Gomoa East, while Hon. Hackman Kobina Aidoo also earned unanimous support with all 22 votes cast in his favour to take up the role of DCE for Gomoa Central.

The elections were supervised by the District Directors of the Electoral Commission in their respective jurisdictions.

The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Okyere Panyin Eduamoah, who observed the elections held separately at Gomoa Potsin and Gomoa Afransi, praised the Assembly Members and the traditional leaders, led by the Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, for conducting the process peacefully and transparently.

He expressed his appreciation to the people of the two districts and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their continued trust in the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

“As we celebrate this great success, let us be reminded that there are works to be done to satisfy the needs of the people in Gomoa."
“There is much more to be done to improve human and infrastructure development of the people in Gomoa. Our major roads are in deplorable state, standard of living is very low while economic related hardships is still staring at our faces."
“What we have to do is to support our newly elected DCEs to fully implement every policy in the Reset Ghana Agenda,” he stressed.

Hon. Eduamoah further urged the new DCEs to prioritise the strengthening of the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) to accelerate social and infrastructure development in their districts. He called for transparency and accountability in their administration, cautioning that any acts of corruption would not be tolerated.

Chairing both events, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI commended the Assembly Members for their overwhelming support, describing it as a strong endorsement of President Mahama’s leadership.

"We Nananom will continue to support our Members of Parliament, DCEs and the Regional Minister to implement policies aimed at empowering the people financially.”
“As I always say, Traditional Leaders are agents for development and we are confident that His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and his Government will perform creditably to reset Ghana to regain its lost glory," he stated.

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI also called on the Regional Minister to work closely with the three Members of Parliament from the Gomoa Constituencies to rehabilitate the area's roads, boost local economic activity, and improve the general living standards of residents.
