
The organizers of this year's All Africa Games have disqualified Ghana's Commonwealth gold medalist Majeti Fetri for failing a drug test.
According to an Accra based Radio Station, Choice Fm, the weightlifter is alleged to have failed the test which was conducted a year ago in South Africa at an African Weightlifting Championship.Fetri who doubles as the coach of the weightlifting team had been the country's medal hopeful in the discipline. The Ghanaian authorities in Algiers have officially protested his disqualification. and see it as a calculated attempt to deny the weightlifter from grabbing the gold medal.
