Victims of the Kumasi Adum PZ fire outbreak have rejected a donation of rice and cooking oil from the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak Mohamed.
This comes after the Asawase MP visited the traders with a truck full of food supplies.
In an interview, the traders expressed that their primary demand is for the government to rebuild the affected area. They emphasized their determination to resist any attempts by authorities to evict them from the land.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister, appearing confident, called for practical measures to address the issue of market fires.
He revealed that Ghana experiences an average of 50 fires daily from October to February each year. He noted that this ongoing crisis has significant economic implications for the country and advocated for strategies to prevent these fires.
The Minister also pledged to support the Adum fire victims in getting back on their feet.
