An entourage from the Kumasi Traditional Council, led by Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang, Otumfuo Akwamuhene, has pledged to collaborate with the government in supporting victims of the recent fire incident in Adum.

This visit followed a briefing from the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, to the Manhyia Traditional Council regarding the Adum PZ fire, which occurred on Friday, March 21, 2025. The devastating fire destroyed over 1,000 shops and resulted in losses valued at millions of Ghana Cedis.

During the visit, Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang expressed sympathy for the victims and assured them of the Council's commitment to providing support. The entourage also inspected the affected area to assess the best ways to assist in its redevelopment.

Baffour Osei Kwame, Otumfuo Kantankrakyi, emphasized the need for Kumasi to reassess its development strategies, addressing issues of congestion and accessibility within the metropolis.

He noted that the Kumasi Traditional Council will support the Ashanti Regional Minister in conducting a rezoning exercise, particularly for the area affected by the fire in Adum.
