Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has expressed confidence in the 2025 Budget, stating that it will bring hope and create jobs for the youth.
Commenting on the budget after its presentation by Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson on Tuesday, Mr. Ayariga, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, emphasized that the budget would stabilize the economy, create jobs, and foster an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive.
“The budget will deliver solid reforms and move the economy from galamsey growth to real growth. This is a budget for Makola women, this is a budget for Assembly Members, Okada riders, and for girls. By the time we finish implementing this budget, )sono b3y3 Kitsikisi, to wit, the elephant will become small,” he said, sparking spontaneous laughter among parliamentarians.
He further stated that nearly every promise made by then NDC Flagbearer John Mahama during the election campaign was already being fulfilled in less than 120 days. He assured Ghanaians that the NDC, whenever in government, follows through on its commitments and urged the public to trust the Mahama-led administration to deliver on its promises.
The budget presentation follows an economic dialogue organized by the Government last week, which brought together leading experts and key stakeholders to discuss solutions to the country’s economic challenges.
It is expected that the 2025 Budget will drive macroeconomic stability, restore good governance, implement structural policy reforms, improve infrastructure development, and enhance overall productivity and economic growth.
