A fire outbreak at Tudu in Accra on the morning of Saturday, March 8, destroyed two shops on the fourth floor of a commercial building.
The incident adds to a growing number of fire outbreaks that have devastated marketplaces across Ghana, causing heavy losses for traders. Many of these fires are often linked to electrical faults, gas explosions, and other human-related factors.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded, dispatching three fire tenders to contain the blaze.
Divisional Officer I (DOI) Alex King Nartey, Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, praised the firefighters for their prompt action.
“Due to the timely intervention of our fire tenders, this whole building has been salvaged from the fire,” he stated.
The fire has since been brought under control, and no casualties have been reported.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire.
