A 35-year-old man, Ofori Silas, has reportedly taken his own life at Mpasaso No. 2 in the Ahafo Ano South-West District of the Ashanti Region.
Silas, a chainsaw operator known locally as Koo Ofori, was found dead in his room on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He is believed to have hanged himself with a rope tied to a ceiling fan.
Speaking to Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah, Assembly Member Charles K. Asare revealed that the deceased had previously threatened to take his own life on multiple occasions.
His body has since been transported to a morgue in Mankranso, while police in Mpasaso have launched an investigation into the incident.
