Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin stirred reactions in Parliament with a remark directed at NDC MPs hoping to be given appointments in John Dramani Mahama's government.
His comment follows the constant heckling in Parliament by NDC members whenever he rises to speak on the floor.
He stated, “If you think you can be making noise, your government business will be delayed. Those who make noise have not been nominated yet. Those who don’t make noise have been nominated.”
The statement sparked reactions, with some MPs taking it as lighthearted banter while others viewed it as a sharp criticism of their conduct.
Afenyo-Markin, however, maintained that parliamentary business should be conducted in an orderly manner, emphasizing that progress required discipline and cooperation.
“The approach is not the best,” he remarked, urging MPs to focus on government businesses rather than unnecessary interruptions.
