Suspension of MPs; Sanction Speaker Bagbin for his undemocratic parliamentary conduct

The MPs affected by this suspension are Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor (South Dayi), Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Nsawam-Adoagyiri), Alhassan Tampuli (Gushegu), and Deputy Minority Chief Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib (Weija-Gbawe).

The Parliamentary Service, which the Speaker oversees, has various committees that ensure the smooth operation of Parliament. The Committee on Ethics and Standards, chaired by the Second Deputy Speaker, oversees the Code of Conduct for Members of Parliament and Ministers. Any further actions that undermine the rule of law and democratic principles will be deeply concerning. The Speaker must prioritize the integrity and independence of Parliament, rather than pursuing a course of action that undermines these fundamental principles.

Furthermore, the Speaker's actions have significant implications for the integrity and independence of Parliament. As the Speaker, he has a duty to uphold the rules and procedures of the House, rather than acting unilaterally. His failure to do so undermines the trust and confidence that the public has in Parliament.
