Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, has lauded Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for prioritizing Ghana’s peace and stability during the 2024 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview, Dr. Agyemang attributed Bawumia’s early concession to divine intervention, describing it as a selfless act that prevented potential chaos in the country.
According to Dr. Agyemang, the Vice President’s willingness to accept the election results, despite potential disagreements, showcased his commitment to national unity.
Bawumia sacrificed the NPP for the peace of Ghana. See what happened even after conceding defeat earlier.
Dr. Bawumia’s actions, he added, set a benchmark for political maturity and statesmanship in Ghana.
“If he hadn’t done that, I don’t know what might have happened in this country. So the will of God is what transpired because no one can convince me that, Bawumia and the NPP never embarked on a massive campaign. We did a vigorous campaign. The support that was needed was given but we lost.
“All we needed to do as a party, to win the elections we did it but victory was in the hands of the Lord,” he stated.
The MP urged other politicians to emulate Dr. Bawumia’s example, stressing that, the former Vice President would surely be presented by the NPP to win the 2028 elections.
