President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to upgrade the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) to a first-class tertiary institution.
The President said he would improve the school’s infrastructure to achieve this goal.
Speaking in Ho on Friday, January 24, during his nationwide 'Thank You' tour, Mr. Mahama stated, “We’ll develop the infrastructure of the University of Health and Allied Sciences into a first-class tertiary institution.”
The President further promised to upgrade the Ohawu Agricultural College into a full university by enhancing its infrastructure.
He also announced plans to transform the Ho Hospital into a teaching hospital.
“The agricultural college at Ohawu will also see improvements in infrastructure and upgrading into a tertiary institution. We intend to upgrade the Ho Hospital into a proper teaching hospital,” he stated.
During his tour, the President will be welcomed with a grand durbar of chiefs, queen mothers, opinion leaders, religious leaders, members of various labor unions, and key representatives from the informal sector.
This, the Presidency says, will aim to solidify the bond between the President and the citizens while celebrating their vital contributions to the nation.
