Anglogold killings: I swear by Allah to deal with Captain Smart – NPP National Chairman

The National 3rd Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana, Alhaji Masawud Osman has vowed to deal with Broadcast Journalist, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart who works with Media General Limited.

The Chairman said he would deal with the broadcaster for utterances he made on live TV that led to the death of his family member in Obuasi.

According to him, crime has no expiry date therefore he should get prepared to face the full rigors of the law any time soon for allegedly calling on the youth of Obuasi to go and engage in an illegality.

He alleges that Captain Smart is behind the action that infuriated the youth in Obuasi to go and confront the military at Anglogold Ashanti.

He said the action had caused his family serious pain since a member was shot dead by the military during the agitation.

Alhaji Masawud Osman who was very emotional told RSM Kofi Doe Lawson on Original TV during a current affairs discussion programme dubbed 'Adwenepa'.

He said he would go to any length to seek justice for his family and others who were brutally murdered.

Not long ago Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady fired shots at both the media house and the general public, accusing them of urging Captain Smart to continue with his unprofessional behaviour.

According to Vim Lady, the public’s support and the media’s undue attention have emboldened Captain Smart to misuse Ghana’s freedom of speech to launch verbal attacks on politicians and public figures and incite the youth to engage in all kinds of actions.

She stated in a recent video that this culture of “over-pampering” has given Captain Smart a sense of entitlement, allowing him to push boundaries and make controversial statements under the guise of holding politicians accountable.
