Mahama appoints Kofi Boakye as Director of Operations at Presidency, Prosper Bani as National Security Advisor, others

President John Dramani Mahama has announced a series of key appointments aimed at bolstering Ghana’s national security and safeguarding its citizens.

Prosper Douglas Bani, a former Chief of Staff and Minister for the Interior, has been named National Security Advisor to the President. With his extensive background in governance and security, Mr. Bani is set to play a pivotal role in shaping national security policies.

DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed National Security Coordinator, where he will lead efforts to unify and streamline security strategies across various agencies.

Retired COP Nathan Kofi Boakye takes on the role of Director of Operations at the Presidency. He will oversee the operational efficiency of Ghana’s security systems, ensuring their effectiveness in addressing emerging threats.

Charles Kipo has been designated as the Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). His role will focus on enhancing intelligence operations to safeguard the nation.

These appointments, announced by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, highlight the government’s dedication to reinforcing national security. The appointees bring a wealth of experience and leadership to their positions, promising to contribute significantly to a more secure Ghana.
