National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has alleged that his son was forced out of his job due to political interference during the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) tenure in government.
In a video shared by social media influencer Kay on Friday, January 10, 2024, Asiedu Nketia recounted how his son, who worked in a private company at the port, lost his job following threats from government officials.
"My son was working at a private company at the port. When the NPP won, they went to the Managing Director of that company and threatened him, saying, 'Sack Asiedu Nketia's son, or we will revoke your license," he explained.
Asiedu Nketia stressed that his son had secured the job based on merit and had no record of misconduct or incompetence.
Despite the ordeal, the seasoned politician expressed pride in how he has raised his children to withstand such politically motivated challenges.
"I bring up my children to also accept that type of thing," he noted.
Asiedu Nketia, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, has served in various capacities, including as an assemblyman, an MP, and the longest-serving General Secretary of the NDC, before assuming his current role as National Chairman.
