The pictorial image of Ghana’s imports is shocking!
It demonstrates that Kwame Nkrumah’s efforts to free our people from Colonial rule and usher in our human Freedoms and even set our people up on the right path of human survival has failed miserably.
We are importing not only Western foods but about half of our people are taking on diseases such as diabetes that are associated with sugar and some chemical preservatives and sweeteners. Diabetes is today one of the killers in our lives!
It appears the Neo-Colonialists and Imperialists have succeeded and laughing all the way to their Banks at home!
Some of us older ones can testify that almost all the items listed in the above image were being made in Ghana before the 1966 coup!
Life is a series of lessons as some of us have found out a lot in our journey in life.
Mine has been a wonderful journey from a beautiful town of Abetifi with perhaps one of the best weather in the world, to America, experiencing tough competition and friendship with the best brains from around the globe (Japan, India, Taiwan, Europe and the Americas and Africa), studying the toughest subjects of Science and Engineering to Mortgage Finance and Organizational Business Psychology.
We all learn lessons and we know the enemies of Ghana and Africa succeeded and have laughed at us in the last 56 years since the 1966 coup!
The silver lining in this gloomy picture is that some of us who came to America and the West and to Russia some 50-60 years ago, are now Senior citizens and can close our eyes and help our nation if called upon in our sleep about major decisions involving Factories, Manufacturing and Technology, the Business as well as the Legal aspects of doing Business with outsiders!
It is hoped that the results of our Ghana November 2024 recent elections, is a major lesson and reflects the mood and mindset of our people. It is 58 years after Kwame Nkrumah’s national Mission and Goals were derailed by the temporary success of his enemies!
It is hoped that the total rejection by the Ghanaian people of the greed and selfish rule of the enemies of Nkrumah will be carved in our national consciousness for ever and lead our leaders to better serve the people!
We wish HE John Mahama 2.0 and his team the best of luck. We hope that they will have the humility to ask our own people for help where needed, to listen to the cries of our people when they shed tears, and the new team will become civil servants to serve the people and the nation of Ghana!
God bless “Ghana our kontre and Africa our modaland”, as the man they called “Nkrumah show boy” used to say!
