The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured Ghanaians of its commitment to give constructive criticisms in opposition when it hands over power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2025.
In a Facebook post on Friday, December 13, Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the NPP, emphasized the NPP’s readiness to provide constructive opposition while wishing the incoming administration well.
“Ours will be a constructive opposition. We wish the NDC well!” he said.
He further reflected on the party’s economic stewardship, claiming that the Akufo-Addo-led administration has transformed a struggling economy inherited from the NDC in 2017.
“The NDC handed the NPP a contracting economy in 2017. Eight years later, President Akufo-Addo is bequeathing the NDC with a growing economy, as acknowledged by Seth Terkper below,” Mr. Ahiagbah stated.
“Ghana expects H.E. John Dramani Mahama to maintain this growth momentum without excuses.”
His statement comes on the back of remarks by former Finance Minister Seth Terkper, who acknowledged the recovery of the Ghanaian economy during an interview with JoyNews.
“There are positive signals that Ghana’s economy is bouncing back to pre-Covid-19 era,” Mr. Terkper remarked.

There is nothing constructive in you NPP animals. Even in this massive defeat, a reckless fool like you Ahiagbah can still have the audacity to tell us that your defeat was not the result of your abysmal governance, but from the internal wranglings that you were having in the party.
