The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reminded the Electoral Commission (EC) that per Constitutional Instrument (CI) 127, the only way to re-collate after declaration is through the courts.
Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC Director of Elections, in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency said this point of law renders their re-collation illegal and that the incoming NDC Government would not entertain such re-collations.
“Re-collation of Parliamentary seats that had already been collated without court order will not stand!” Dr Omane Boamah stated.
“Still keep #EAGLEEYES on the Electoral Commission and the NPP (New Patriotic Party).”
He reiterated that some of the constituencies had not been collated; saying “separate that from those that had been collated”.
