Former Minister for Energy Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has released a statement calling for self-analysis within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the tensions rising after the December 7, 2024 elections.
The letter, signed by Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko and dated 10th December 2024, reflects a call for reconciliation.
It addresses the aftermath of a challenging situation, metaphorically described as a storm, which serves to clear away obstructions and create opportunities for renewal.
The statement emphasizes that the NPP has received a “verdict” from an angry nation, prompting the need for self-reflection and renewal.
“The verdict of an unjustifiably angered nation has been visited upon us” the statement read.
Agyarko urges NPP party members to take this moment to reflect soberly, resolve tensions, and repair relationships within the party and the country.
The letter acknowledges that the current challenges are difficult but necessary for clarity and growth.
Agyarko believes the situation provides an opportunity to “renew” the party and re-establish its values.
Agyarko stated, “Yes our present predicament is going to be very trying and clarifying and we must and shall rise to the occasion of renewing our Party”.
In essence, the message is one of hope, accountability, and renewal.
