The Returning Officer for the Walewale Electoral Commission, Mr. Earnest Kwesi Klu, has officially declared Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as the Member of Parliament-elect for the Walewale Constituency.
Running on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Tia Mahama secured 36,700 votes, defeating Hon. Abdulai Abubakar of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 31,401 votes.
In the presidential election results from the constituency, the NPP's flagbearer and Vice President, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, emerged victorious with 41,273 votes, significantly surpassing the 24,673 votes obtained by the NDC's John Dramani Mahama.
Walewale holds particular significance as the hometown of Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's presidential candidate and outgoing Vice President.
